Prof Finlay Macrae AO MD FRACP FRCP
Recent Head of Colorectal Medicine at The Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia, Finlay has had a career long clinical research interest in familial gastrointestinal cancer. He continues in active endoscopic and consultative practice in this field in Australia. He has been the international vice chair of the CaPP RCTs of aspirin in Lynch Syndrome, and has co-lead InSiGHT’s ClinGen Variant Curation Expert Panels for the MMR genes and polyposis genes, positioning InSiGHT as the lead authority in gene curation for these genes. Further, he has initiated InSiGHT collaborative networks assembling data on the phenotype and genomics of NTHL1 tumour syndrome and constitutional MLH1 methylation as a cause of Lynch Syndrome. In 2024, he retired from the InSiGHT Council having served since its inception.
